About Us
The Heads of the Valley's Sub Aqua Club

The Heads of the Valley Sub Aqua Club is branch No. 0263 of the British Sub Aqua Club. It was established in 1968 when scuba diving was in its infancy. Currently, the club has approximately 50 members.

The range of members have a spread of all ages and experience ranging from new trainees to First Class Divers and instructors ranging from Assistant instructor, Theory Instructor, Practical Instructor, Open Water Instructor and Advanced Instructors, all being Nationally Qualified. We also have divers trained by several different agencies as members.

Sea Rider The Club's 5.4 mt SeaRider The club owns 2 RIBs (Rigid hull Inflatable Boats), a 6mt Humber which has recently been fitted with a brand new Evinrude 175HP engine, and 5.4mt Sea rider which is fitted with a 90HP Evinrude engine. Both of these are based near Milford Haven in West Wales and as a result most of the diving is completed in that area. This means that we have fast easy access to the many wrecks around the West Wales coast in addition to the islands of Skokholm, Skomer, the marine reserve and when the weather cooperates, "The Smalls".

Both these boats are fitted with VHF radios, satellite navigation, echo sounders and other first aid and safety equipment. In addition to that the club owns several sets of Oxygen equipment.

Most weekends when the weather permits we're diving off one or both of these boats in that area.Valerie Red Sea Liveaboard Valerie Red Sea liveaboard M/Y Valerie

In addition to West Wales, the club also organises various trips around the UK (Cornwall, Plymouth, Weymouth, etc) on charter boats and also has concurrently run Red Sea Live aboard Safari's in 2006, 2008, 2010 and is already planning another Red Sea Trip for 2012 so watch this space.

The club regularly takes advantage and uses the facilities of the National Diving and Activities Centre at Chepstow, where many training and refresher dives take place

In short, there is usually diving orginised somewhere most weekends!
